What to Look for at Weed Dispensaries

What to Look for at Weed Dispensaries

As marijuana slowly becomes legalized across more and more of the United States, you can expect to see more dispensaries popping up in your nearest city center.

These are one-stop shops for everything you’d ever need to get your smoke on.

Here are some must-have products that you should look for the next time you hit up your local dispensary.

Weed

If you’re heading to the dispensary to buy some weed, make sure you have your ID on hand. Even seasoned regulars will get carded before they enter, so keep it with you at all times.

While some have mastered the craft, it’s safer to just bring cash just in case. Many Dispensaries don’t use card readers because providers like Square don’t allow accounts that sell marijuana.

Don’t be afraid to ask the staff questions: they’re there to help you find the right product for you.

It is also helpful to have a bit of background knowledge before you go, especially when it comes to the type of strain you want.

Try a New Strain

Dispensaries are great places for you to experiment with different types of weed that you might have never tried before.

There are three main types of strains:

  • Indica buds are shorter and bushier leaves that will give you more of a body high. This strain will make you feel a bit sleepy, relaxed, and a bit heavier than Sativa. We recommend it for nighttime use.
  • Sativa leaves are thinner and longer. These give you a head high, making you feel alert, energetic, and creative. This is probably the type of weed that Snoop Dogg smokes before he comes up with all of his songs. We recommend Sativa for daytime use.
  • Hybrid is a mix of the two, giving you a little bit of everything. It’s the perfect anytime cruiser. This may be a great place to start if you’ve never tried cannabis before.

Look for New Flavors

Any seasoned smoker can tell you that not all weed tastes the same.

This is because “terpenes”    are found in the cannabis plant alongside cannabinoids like THC and CBD.

Terpenes are aromatic chemicals that give weed its distinct taste and smell.

Don’t be afraid to ask your budtender what kinds of flavors they have on display. Typical flavors range from cotton candy and cherry to peppermint and chocolate.

Smokeware

Weed is great, but it’s no good if you don’t have a killer rig to smoke it!

Dispensaries and smoke shops are great places for you to peruse perfect pot products to make your next smoke sesh one of the best.

Rigs and Pipes

Bongs make for some of the smoothest and most intense rips. While these are staples of any stoner’s stash, there are a few models that we highly recommend to step up your game.

We love a classic rig, but sometimes you need to stand out from the pack.

Higher Standard’s Heavy Duty Beaker is a classy way to deck out your weed corner. You can look just like Walter White as you cook up some goodness in this beaker made with medical-grade borosilicate glass. It’s got supreme stability and high thermal resistance. You’ll want to check if your local dispensary has one of these in stock.

When you think you’ve smoked every bowl, pipe, bong, and joint in existence, it’s time to get yourself a Heavy Duty Riggler. Engineered to work with both dry herbs and concentrates, this rig is equipped with a quartz banger and glass bowl for optimal flavor transfer.

Vaporizers

Smoking weed is fun, but it can take some time to perfect the art of packing, rigging, and pulling. Next time you go to the dispensary, see if they’re offering up and vaporizing pens so you can get your fix easy, discreetly, and effectively.

When you vape THC, you’re able to avoid something called first-pass elimination. This occurs when you ingest a substance orally. It becomes metabolized and can then lose some of its potency.

This is why weed edibles take so much longer to hit compared to smoking a blunt.

Vape pens work in the same way, heading straight to your lungs and into your bloodstream. It’s one of the easiest ways to feel the vibes without putting in too much effort or waiting too long for the hit to start kicking in.

We’re partial to anything made by Dr. Dabber, as these are some of the highest quality vaporizers in the game right now.

If you happen to stumble across the flagship Dr. Dabber Ghost Vaporizer, you’d be remiss to leave the dispensary or smoke shop without it.

CBD

We trust in this plant’s perfection to bring relief that’s just right no matter what, but sometimes a buzz isn’t what we’re aiming for. If you ever feel like you need a reprieve from life’s heated moments, but you need to stay 100% focused, CBD is exactly what you need.

What’s great about CBD is that it is actually legal in all fifty states, thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill. This is why you’ve probably started seeing CBD products pop up in supplement stores, online retailers, and even grocery outlets near you.

CBD stands for cannabidiol and is derived from the cannabis Sativa plant.

It’s similar to THC in most of its properties, the main difference being that it’s not psychoactive and won’t make you feel high.

Cannabinoids like CBD and THC interact with the endocannabinoid system, a complex network inside your body to improve your overall health. However, THC is a bit more intense, interacting more strongly with cannabinoid receptors when compared to CBD.

CBD is a great option to have on hand when work or school gets a little too stressful. It is also highly versatile, so be on the lookout for different types of products like:

Oils and Sprays

The tried-and-true method for administering CBD is through oil tinctures.

These are some of the fastest ways to feel its effects because sublingual application under your tongue works in similar ways to vaping and smoking. However, oils can be highly concentrated, making for a chemical and harsh flavor that may be unfavorable for some people.

Luckily, there are other ways to enjoy CBD oil without compromising its ease and speed.

CBD sprays are one of our favorite oil alternatives. All you need to do is spritz a couple of sprays to help ease feelings of stress and soothe tension.

Bath Bombs

From oils and lotions to vapes and bowls, you may think you’ve tried everything. Ask your local dispensary what they have in store, and you might be surprised at what you can find.

One of our favorite CBD gems are bath bombs that are infused with cannabidiol.

Bath bombs are great on their own, giving us a little extra sizzle to our self-care routine. But when you combine CBD, Magnesium, and Eucalyptus, you’ve got a bath bomb that really is da-bomb.

Try a CBD-infused bath bomb because it’s an easy and fun way to feel the blissful sensation throughout your entire body without needing to lather up on other oils and serums.

CBD Smokes

Just because you don’t want to get high doesn’t mean you should have to miss out on the culture!

Check to see if your local dispensary has some CBD smokes to bring to the next smoke sesh.

You can find CBD bud and pack all your favorite bowls or rolls with it. These are great options if you’re trying to ease off of THC or engage in your daily ritual while still focusing on your routine.

You will likely find herbal cigarettes made with hemp that have many of the same benefits, but these are also great if you’re trying to quit nicotine cigarettes.

In Conclusion

Weed dispensaries are magical places filled with everything you’d ever need to make every day feel like 4/20. But if you’ve never been to a local dispensary or need a refresher, there are a few things to check out when you go.

For starters, check out the different products they’re selling, and don’t be afraid to try something new. Try Indica if you’ve only ever done Sativa, or try a strain that tastes like fruit instead of candy.

Next, look for some of the best smokeware that you can find anywhere. Your nearest weed dispensary and smoke shop is a trusted source for everything from bongs and wraps to bowls and vapes.

We love smoking and vaping out THC because it’s a practical and social way to experience kush culture.

Finally, be sure to check out their CBD collection. It’s not always about getting high, and CBD can give you all of the effects you know and love about THC without compromising your cognition.

Look for items like oils and sprays, or try one of our personal favorites by keeping an eye out for CBD bath bombs.

But no matter what you do, be sure to give your dispensary employees a whole lot of love before you leave. They work hard so you can play even harder.
