What a CBD Expo Experience Is Like
If you’ve ever been to Comic Con or any other type of convention, you’ve probably seen how excited people get about the things they love. Entertainment and video game conventions are insanely popular because it lets like minded people connect with one another and geek out about the stuff that they normally need to keep secret.
But in the same way that you can love a comic book, you can love cannabis. And CBD expos are becoming more and more popular as time progresses. These are the ultimate experiences for people who love cannabis, want to know more about cannabis, already know a ton about cannabis, or anything in between.
There’s really no way to let you know what a CBD expo is like without going to one yourself, but let’s try to walk you through what you can expect from a typical CBD convention and why you should get tickets for one.
Things To Do at a CBD Expo
If it’s your first time going to an exhibition, it can be overwhelming at first. So just pop in CBD gummy to help you de-stress, and then read through this list of things you’ll be able to do when you arrive.
Connect with Industry Professionals
One of the most exciting things about cannabis expos is that medical experts, industry professionals, farmers, lawyers, and consumers can all connect with one another in a common space. It’s the best place to bounce ideas off of one another if you’re trying to start a business of your own.
However, if you just use CBD or other cannabis products recreationally, this is the best place to learn about the ins and outs of the industry. Building your knowledge about cannabis can help you expand your own depth while also giving you some super fun facts to share with your friends at the next smoke session.
Similarly, these are essential moments for vendors and professionals to hear about things that you love as a consumer. As a consumer, you supply the demand, keeping all of the small and large businesses up and running. They value your input, and they might even use some of your ideas later on down the road.
Test Out Some New Products
Perhaps the most exciting thing about conventions of any kind is being able to walk around and look at some of the new products that manufacturers and suppliers are selling. These types of events are great places for budding entrepreneurs to get a gauge on what works and what doesn’t work about their products from consumers.
You’ll spend the main portion of your time walking around and looking at this new stuff, so make sure you wear some comfy shoes. As you walk around, you’ll probably be able to find some of the usuals like CBD oils, gummies, and topical creams.
However, keep your eyes peeled for some more experimental and diverse products too, like CBD bath bombs, facial moisturizers, sprays, and more. You’re bound to come across something that you never even knew existed.
Not only are you helping the vendors, but you’re also being exposed to some fun and exciting new stuff that you may not be able to find anywhere else. It’s perfect for people who are newbies to the world of cannabis and are ready to get their feet wet, but it’s also a great experience for people who think they’ve tried every CBD product imaginable.
Listen to Presentations
While this might not sound that fun on the surface, presentations at cannabis expos and conventions are completely unlike your typical high school book report. These are done by leading professionals in the industry, as well famous celebrities, chefs, and motivational speakers.
While some are meant to be informative, like keynotes on the state of industry aspects, you can get your hands on tickets to presentations that are entirely for your entertainment. We’ve seen everything from Q&A sessions with celebrities to cooking how-to’s from famous edibles cooks.
Regardless, these are great ways for you to take a break from the typical rowdiness of the exposition floor with an organized and streamlined presentation that requires nothing more than your attention. Bring a notebook, because you definitely won’t want to miss anything.
Meet New Friends
While the main purpose of CBD expos is to allow businesses and investors to gain valuable business insights, the secondary benefit is that you get to mingle with people from all over the world who have a love for cannabis just like you.
You’ll have plenty of time to interact with people on the exhibition floor as you stand at the same booths and discuss different products, or even sit next to each other at exhibitions. We’ve even seen people who have become friends in online messaging boards meet up for the first time at cannabis conventions. CBD expos can bring us all together in the same ways that marijuana can.
Buy Some Merchandise
CBD expos are naturally bound to have a lot of CBD products. However, most CBD conventions are a celebration of cannabis and marijuana as a whole. As a result, you’ll be able to stock up on a lot more than just the typical cannabidiol.
Not only can you load up on some shirts, hoodies, and other types of dope cannabis apparel, but you’ll also be able to load up on some smokeware to prepare yourself for the next THC exhibition as well.
You’re also bound to work up an appetite after a long day of walking around, so you’ll want to have some cash on hand to try out some of the food trucks and vendors on sight too. You’re likely to find things like cannabis infused baked goods and sandwiches, but you might also find some marijuana cocktails and other beverages.
COVID-19 and CBD Expos
With the COVID-19 pandemic throwing a wrench into the typical fanfare of CBD conventions, many of the most sought-after events have transitioned into an online format. While this loses much of what makes CBD expos so fun in the first place, they have some added benefits that still make them worth attending.
For one, they don’t require you to make a trip across the country. Since you can safely attend from the comfort of home, you can go to even more CBD expos than you may have ever imagined. Plus, this makes it more accessible for people who may not have been able to make it to in-person events in general.
Not to mention, you can have some more one-on-one time with industry leaders. The online format makes it easier for celebrities and notable personalities to have some quality time with attendees, so you may actually be able to have a more personalized experience in a remote format.
Also, the price of admission for these events has been dramatically reduced in most cases, so you can still learn more about the industry and network with professionals without dropping as much dough.
With all of that said, we are excited for things to start getting back to normal so we can get back to enjoying the exhibitions in the flesh.
Must-Attend CBD Expos
From remote events to limited in-person events, CBD expos don’t stop just because it seems like the rest of the world does. Here are a few events that you might want to mark your calendars for.
High Times Cannabis Cup
While it’s not your typical CBD expo, it’s a CBD event that you’re not going to want to miss. Every year, High Times puts on a huge event where selected CBD manufacturers can put their products head to head up against a panel of industry professionals. At the end, those judges crown a winner with the best CBD product of the year.
And while the energetic in-person event had to be cancelled in 2021, we think that the modified version might be even better. This year, the judges are the nationwide public, and you can be one of the people who picks the next best CBD product that the nation has ever seen.
All you need to do is sign up to receive a judging kit where you’ll receive samples of CBD products from contestants. Try them on your own or share them with friends, and then rank them based on specified criteria. At the end of the judging period, we’ll announce the winner that you helped select.
The Cannabis Cup is one of the most exciting CBD events of the year, and this time around things are no different.
New England Cannabis Convention
With Massachusetts being one of the first states to legalize recreational marijuana, the New England region has been pretty quick to implement new policies that make it easier to enjoy cannabis whenever. This also means that they know how to put on a great convention.
The New England Cannabis Convention (NECANN) is the ultimate place for businesses, investors, lawyers, researchers, and consumers to connect with one another about everything going on in the world of weed. It’s one of the largest events in the country, boasting over 9,000 in attendance during its 2019 event.
For 2021, they’re hoping to get things back up and running in person, so be on the lookout for tickets going on sale soon!
The CBD Expo Tour
There’s arguably no better CBD Expo than one that’s literally called The CBD Expo! This is a touring expo that travels all across the country, so you can make it any one of their stops.
It’s one of the best networking events for everything CBD related. These are business to business based shows, so they’re a necessary step towards growing your small business or getting some ideas from professional cultivators as far as how to get yourself started in the field.
They’re also trying to move forward with some in person events this year, so if this is something that interests you, be sure to snag your reservation right when they become available.
USA CBD Expo
If you want to be able to connect your product to attendees, or you’re a consumer who wants to explore some of the newest innovations in CBD, then the USA CBD Expo is one of the best places to go. They exhibit in four cities around the country, so you can try to make the trip no matter where you are.
Past shows have seen over 10,000 attendees and over 300 vendors on the show floor. If you had the chance to go to past events yourself, it’s entirely possible that you were overwhelmed in the best way possible.
Just like some of the other expos on this list, they’re hoping to start getting back to in-person events soon!
CBD expos are the best places to be if you’re looking to expand your knowledge surrounding cannabis, while also networking with industry professionals and likeminded people. You can listen to keynote presentations, talk to vendors, and buy some new CBD merchandise all under the same roof.
And even though COVID-19 has taken away some of what makes these so great, online CBD expos have still maintained their essence as we transition to in-person events.
While the High Times Cannabis Cup will remain remote for this year, some events like NECANN or the USA CBD Expo are hoping to transition back to in-person conventions. Everyone is dying to get out of the house, so these tickets might fill up fast. Be sure to make your reservations soon so you don’t miss out on some of the most fun exhibitions of the year.
